The
Mass Red Ribbon Ride is
an unprecedented collaboration among AIDS organizations in Massachusetts
to raise funds and awareness for HIV/AIDS
The
175 mile ride across Massachusetts will take place on August 13-14,
2005. One day options include: 50, 75 or 100 mile routes;
Join us for 1 OR 2 days!
Approximate
daily mileage is 75-100 with all meals, pit stops, medical/tech
support and group overnight accommodations handled by the Event
Producer, The AIDS Action Committee
The
bike ride begins in the Berkshires, passes through the Northampton/Amherst
area, then over the Quabbin Reservoir and through towns in Metrowest,
culminating in greater Boston
This
exciting event is projected to have 200 riders in 2005, with each
2-day rider raising a minimum of $1800 for the Cause; one day riders
raise $10 per mile
Administrative
costs will be kept to a minimum to maximize the funds that go directly
to HIV/AIDS services, with a target of returning 90% or more of
the funds to the beneficiaries within 3 years
Groups
may form teams of 3 or more to fund raise, train and ride together;
team members may be a combination of riders, crew, virtual riders
or volunteers.
